Children who receive a high-quality early childhood education have significantly better life outcomes. These positive effects extend on to the next generation of children. -Dr. Alejandra Barraza President, HighScope Educational Research Foundation
"It's what we've been studying for more than 50 years. We've created curricula based on fulfilling the promise of providing more than just better education—it's filling the bigger promise of better lives. We know the methodologies and tools that give our children the very best opportunity at long term success.
Beginning with the Perry Preschool Study, we revolutionized early childhood education with a new approach to teaching and learning. Research-based and child-focused, the HighScope Curriculum uses active participatory learning and the plan-do- review process to achieve powerful, positive outcomes. As teachers, parents, and educational researchers have discovered, the HighScope Curriculum not only helps young children excel in literacy and cognitive learning but also develop the fundamental skills that help determine success in adult life." -Highscope Website Noor Academy utilizes the high quality HighScope curriculum in our toddler and preschool classes while adapting it to meet the diverse needs of our students. Small teacher to student ratios allow more one on one time while differentiating instruction. |
Elementary Curriculum
THE GUIDING PRINCIPLES AND GOALS FOR ELEMENTARY
(Based on the Nebraska Department of Education Guidelines of the Primary Program)
.The Elementary School Program nurtures the continuing growth of children’s knowledge and their understanding of self and the world. It provides a safe and stimulating environment where learning flourishes. The program recognizes that children are individuals, and every child is unique. Noor Academy facilitates continuous learning by accommodating the broad range of children’s needs, their learning rates and styles, and their knowledge, experiences, and interests. It presents an integrated curriculum incorporating a variety of instructional models, strategies, and resources. Noor Academy values teachers and parents as partners in a child’s learning experience. Teachers and parents consult and collaborate to create a climate of respect, success, and joy necessary for lifelong learning.
The curriculum used by the teachers supports these guiding principles. Specific curriculums utilized are just one of the many tools our teachers use. All our curriculums are approved by the Nebraska Department of Education and Millard Public Schools Assistant Superintendent following all state and federal standards. |
